Software development methods

According to McBreen, a software development process or methodology refers to how an orgranization coordinates and manages its resources and people to create and maintain software. Software methodologies optimise for the production of what they consider important, thus different methodologies optimise for different things. Examples of software methodologies include:

  1. Waterfall – the traditional software engineering approach.
  2. Extreme Programming
  3. Scrum
  4. Lean / Kanban

Extreme Programming, Scrum and Lean are Agile methods.
